Obviously the best answer is right after Apple has made an update. From what I have noticed this typically happens in February, July, or Sept/October. Apple is scheduled to release Snow Leopard September this year. I would suspect there may be a new Apple product (tablet) lurking around the corner. Check out the rumors here: http://www.9to5mac.com/Tablet-Apple-September. Here is a site that has kept track of what has happened historically and tries to make what I would consider the best recommendation of when to buy: http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/. I highly recommend this Asus Netbook. It is a small light computer with a killer battery. The keyboard is normal size and very comfortable to type on. I have recommended this machine to many people and they have all been very happy with their purchase. You no longer need to purchase Norton Anti Virus because Microsoft now offers their Security Essentials software for free. Download that here. I do recomend the extra stick of ram to improve performance. The RAM is very easy to install. There is 1 screw on the bottom of the computer. Remove that screw and the existing stick of RAM pops right out and you just put the new one in and you are all set. Here is a good tutorial on how to install RAM. The home edition is for non-commercial use and doesn’t include Microsoft Outlook.
